SYMPATHIES
Sincere sympathy to the Condon family, Carhue on the death recently of their good friend and neighbour Pa Lyons. Pa's remains were interred in his native Kilbehenny along side the past members of the Lyons family. May Pa's gentle soul rest in peace in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
Our Parish priest for many years (recently AP) Fr. Dick Kelly was laid to rest last Friday in Kilbehenny cemetery. It was a lovely ceremony in which Dick's brother Fr. Michael was the main celebrant of the funeral Mass and ably assisted by Bishop Kieran O'Reilly and Fr. Joe Tynan P.P. The Church was packed to capacity for the funeral which included Fr. Dick's siblings and numerous priests from the Diocese of Cashel & Emly. It surely was a fitting tribute to a priest who has been with us here in Kilbehenny and Anglesboro for close on 30 years. Dick had both his Silver and Jubilee celebrations in our parish. May Fr. Dick rest in eternal peace.
To say that Kilbehenny and its hinterland was shocked to the core on Sunday morning when the news broke that Siobhan Clancy (nee O'Sullivan) had passed to her eternal reward, is an understatement. Siobhan, and her family, was the local undertaker for many years having learned the trade from her father Joe. She was also the Church organist. Definitely a beacon of light has faded from Kilbehenny with Siobhan's passing. Siobhan was a professional to her fingertips and a woman of many, many talents.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Padraig, Caoimhe, Sean, Aoibheann, Angela (Gallahue), Liam and Joe and the wider Clancy and O'Sullivan families.
May Siobhan's gentle soul rest in peace in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
